Haha. I banked two days at the end of September so I could start two days early. Spring carnival and all...

Running is back on the menu on a far more regular basis now.

Who else apart from Stuey and Mo Williams is competing in Melbourne next Thursday? I'm looking forward to exerting some patriotic enthusiasm for a sport which isn't ever described as 'footy'.

Heavens no! There are hailstorms and then there are mini-cyclones. Saturday training just got tweaked a little and became a pool session.

in all honesty though, I am in training for that Great Ocean Road half again. I have unfinished business with that road.

Haha good on ya Briar! You wouldn't have caught me out running in that either. When is the Great Ocean Road half?

16 May... just under ten weeks away now. So far, so good. I guess the more people that know I'm doing it, the more public humiliation/pressure there is if I don't run something decent ie. must train because I don't want a 'please explain' on the 17th.

Nice! Good on ya, I have been thinking along the same lines for Gold Coast Half. Just got to muster up the coin to get there.

Pfft... gold coast marathon. Too flat. I like my half marathons to start with at least 3km of uphill.

Haha I would probably do better in a race situation with the hills, but lets face it, p.b's come from races like Gold Coast and ChCh and that is the aim for me. Hope the training is going well.

Done and dusted but this time I executed it much better. I ran 1.49hr for the 21km and 2hrs for the full 23km. I also started right at the back (owing to fears of last years perfomance) and the clock starts when the gun goes off. It's probably worth about 2 minutes but meh. The time sounds horrendously slow anyway so google map the section of Great ocean Road between Kennett River and Apollo Bay. Was very happy with my run and even more happy to collect bragging rights thanks to the victory over my work colleagues. :D

Am on a bit of a roll so am considering doing Run Melbourne in mid July which is another half marathon but on much more friendly terrain... just to see what I could really do. Am thinking training more dilligently and drinking less dilligently will help too. Who knew?!
